Moments: the board and the five rungs
Moments holds every accountability conversation you're part of, on one board with five rungs. (Moments used to be called the Dial.) For the method behind the rungs, see The Accountability Dial™ from Good Authority, or click ⓘ next to the Moments title.
The board
| Rung | What it means |
|---|---|
| Mention | Name it early. |
| Invitation | Talk about it more. |
| Conversation | Work through it. |
| Boundary | Name the change. |
| Limit | Say what happens if it doesn't change. |
Each card shows the person, what it's about, how long it's been open and how many signals Ren has seen. Cards marked Suggestion came from Ren.
By you / For you
- By you: cards you opened about others.
- For you: cards others opened about you. See Cards about you.
- Click a face to see one person's cards.
Private drafts
Not ready to say it yet? Save a Mention as a draft. Drafts show on the board with a dashed outline and a Draft tag, marked Only you. The other person isn't told anything until you send it.
Inside a card
Click a card to open it. You'll see its rung, what you said and what they replied (with Copy), and What has happened: a dated timeline of every step.
- Talk it through with Ren opens a chat about this card.
- Move to [next rung] moves it up one rung. You can also drag it on the board. Ren talks the move through with you first.
- Snooze brings it back later.
- Close this out: pick a reason (they've got it, wasn't the right call, not right now) and optionally "Bring it back when?". Undo and Reopen card are there if you change your mind. (This replaces Archive and "Take it off the Dial".)
Ren's suggestions
Open a suggestion to edit it in Make it sound like you (see Today). To remove one, click ✕ on the tile, drag it to Delete suggestion, or use the button in the review window.
Closed cards and history
- Show closed brings back cards that came off the board. They open read-only.
- Recent activity, under the board, is a feed of every move.
From chat to the board
Cards Ren shows in chat have a Show in Moments link that opens them on the board.
